Kent Morrison specializes in the outpatient treatment of adolescents, young adults and their families who struggle with substance abuse. His counseling program includes both individual and family counseling coupled with parent education meetings. His counseling approach is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the adolescent/young adult population and their families.

 

Kent holds a Bachelors degree from California State University, Sacramento in Sociology, and a Masters degree from Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies, in Addiction Counseling. He is certified through the state of California as a level II counselor, CADC II (certification # RA849905), and also holds a BCCR certification through the International Certification Board, IC&RC, as a Board Certified Counselor with reciprocity. Kent is also a member of both CAADAC and NAADAC, state and national organizations committed to substance abuse professionals and their clientele. In addition, Kent is in recovery and does bring both his personal and professional experiences into his counseling approach.

 

Kent has been in private practice since relocating from Minnesota in 2003. While in Minnesota he worked for the esteemed Hazelden Foundation at the adolescent and young adult treatment facility, Hazelden Center for Youth and Families (HCYF). Kent has also been a guest speaker for several high schools in the Sacramento area presenting to students, faculty, and parents.
